Photography ideas, please help?

I've been given an assignment which is to take a photo of the identity of something or someone.

EG: A photo of a Kangaroo might represent the identity of Australia.
EG: A photo of a horse standing on it's rear legs represents the identity of heroes.

I'm looking for really artistic and creative ideas.
 
You can take photos of someone you admire, and the photo can show why you admire them. Could be a sportsperson, or an actor, or even just one of your parents. The photo could be an expression of theirs that portrays the reason you like them
 
Polar bears identify with North and South poles
Fish identify with the Sea
Birds identify with the sky
Tanks identify with War
Money identifies with rich people
Empty pockets identify with the poor people
