photography GIMP, how to use air brush?? ?

How or what do you use on the photo editing system GIMP, to make the skin of your subjects seem more even....

like removing pimples, and evening out skin tone!!!

on gimp i go and click on the little airbrush tool but then i change it to the small galaxy size and then point to the color you want on the picture and hold down the control key and left click and then let go of control key and then left click to airbrush. hope this helps
