photography classes in sacramento, california?

i am looking for affordable and appropriate photography classes in the sacramento area that would be appropriate for an 11 year old boy. this is a friend's kid who has shown a recent interest in photography. i know they have a digital point and shoot camera but NO DSLR or film camera.

IF the classes would provide that it would help OR it should probably be an intro to Photography that a kid could follow and enjoy.
