Most digital cameras offer B&W option, but I find that using the software can get better results. B&W is best when you have true black and more contrast and that's often a result of work in the darkroom. Those adjustments can be made adjusting 'levels' or adding 'contrast' in software editing. Even using free editing software like Picasa will work - increase highlights and shadow. Or you can use Gimp, or Paint.net
