Photo printing solution to replace Polaroid camera?

I need to come up with a solution for printing digital photos in a situation where a Polaroid camera would have been useful. Specifically a photo with Santa type situation where I need to print pictures pretty much on demand. Ideally the solution would be able to automatically send images from my digital camera to either a laptop or photo printer and then automatically output a 3x5 or 4x6 photo.

For what it's worth, I have a Sony A200 DSLR.
