Photo Backup IOS5

When I do a synch I think (hope) my photos are backed up to the cloud. How do I get these photos onto my PC and then how do I delete them all from the phone to free up some space?

Right now you can only turn off iCloud. There is a new ios IOS 5.1.3 beta in trials now to let us delete photos from iCloud.
