and for those who dont want to click the link here is a basic of what it said, note that this was copy and pasted from the site and its the short version.

Exploding cellphone kills Chinese man
Here's the thing about batteries: they store energy. Lots of it. Channeled correctly, that energy does really awesome things for us -- but channeled chaotically, and... well, you know where this is going, don't you? A man shopping in a Lenovo store in mainland China has been killed after the phone in his chest pocket exploded, severing arteries and leading to massive blood loss. The make and model of the phone and battery have yet to be identified, but seeing how this is the seventh high-profile case of an exploding phone in China in the last six years, it really gives you pause before installing that shady off-brand juice, doesn't it?

anyhow your thoughts about this?

cell phones have been killing people for years.

I read a study once, that said talking while driving, is just as bad as driving drunk..........

i believe the study claimed that the rates of accidents that involved parties using a cell phone were equal to the rates of accidents that involved parties that were over 0.01 BAC which is well below the legal limit in every state (as long as you are legally allowed to drink). as i recall there were all kinRAB of problems with the study (done about 10 years ago) including small sample size and the fact that cell phone usage was not a recorded factor in most of the country.

I don't know Simple, you should try driving in Memphis and see if you say the same thing. Every car I get behind is usually on the damn cell phone, blocking traffic, slamming on there brakes every 10 feet. Cutting people off. I would wager, most of the traffic accidents during the daytime hrs, is cause of someone on there damn cell phone. I can't stand it. I purposely don't answer my cellphone if I am driving in my car, unless I have a bluetooth on, and even then, I sometimes just take off the damn bluetooth.

still the study that was referred to was improperly conducted.. and if as you say everyone is talking on the cell phone it does not correlate that cell phones nescessarily cause accidents, only that a lot of people driving talk on cell phones, and most people that get in car accidents are driving a car.

I don't think the cell phone, necessarily causes accidents. Stupid and uncoordinated people will always be stupid and uncoordinated whether or not they have a cell phone in their hanRAB. Sure, it takes a little extra brain power to hold a device to the head and talk at the same time but how different is this than a moron talking to someone else in the passenger seat of their own car. This falls under doing anything and driving at the same time. A lot of people(morons) can only do one thing at a time. The cell phone could easily be replaced by changing stations on the radio.

When I say, "stupid people", I am referring to people who can barely concentrate on one thing at a time. I am not referring to intellect.

regardless i was just saying the study that everyone references was poorly conducted and most people when they analyze it would not cite it as a reputable reference.
