Phone swap: Any reason it won't work?

I work with Verizon Wireless. You can change a phone out for free on our website, or call customer service and they can change it for $20.00 (always see if they will waive it, can't hurt). Just keep in mind if Verizon gives you a phone at a discounted rate, no matter what it is, it WILL EXTEND YOUR CONTRACT!!!!, usually by 2 years. Family Share secondary lines are not eligible for new every two, but do get the early upgrade which is the 2 year price, after 1 yr of service is complete. And yes, you can get the upgraded phone and put it on any line you want, after it is initially on the phone # that had the upgrade, we do not care because the contract has been extended. Hope this Helps.

Thanks for all the help. Step 1 completed. RAZR in hand. Just need to have the old phone switched back this week sometime.

BTW, the guy at the wireless booth in my local COSTCO where I got the phone said the new phone must stay activated on my line for at least 48 hours to qualify for the $50 rebate.

Can anybody verify?

Hmmm.....don't know about that....actually thats the first I have ever heard of it.

I guess it could be so...but don't see how it would matter what line the phone has on it, as long as it was active on the network.

I have bought and switched quite a few phones through Verizon and they have never once asked for my old phone. I would laugh at them if they did, what posible justification could they give for asking me to freely give them something that I paid them for? I would tell them "Sure, you give me a new phone and I'll give you the old one"

Streetuner: I have a prepaid phone on Virgin that I want to use on the Verizon network (prepaid). Do you know if this will work? If so, what steps do I need to take to get it going?
