phone prgrams for each brand? (help)

I m a newbie to any other phone out there. The only phones that i have been buying have been moto's. I ve been looking for a new phone for a while now, but dont knwo what to get.. The only reason i wnt to get a moto is so i can get free ring tones from mobile phone tools? so i was wondering if i got a nokia, is there a program like mobile phone tools for the nokia, or if i got a sony ericson is there a program to get make my own ringtones for them... Pls help.. also tell me if i m the wrong area to post this thanks
