Phone or something for the disabled

Ok I know you guys have an answer for me.

Here's the short.

My friends daughter was brutally shot in the face twice. Destroying her jaw bone and possibly her eyesite. We are not sure if he found her on a chat site or what, but he tracked her down with information found online to kill her, he drove from 3 states away, unknown motive, he killed himself after shooting her. Out fo resepct for the family, I won't go into any more detail.

So if her eye site returns in one eye and we know she won't be able to speak for several months or more. What would her best solution be?

I'm looking for tty info as I wait for replys. Any help here is useful too.

Now if her eyesite doesn't recover fully, what would her options be also?

From what I read on phonesoop, "W712 & Z712 are Hearing Aid Compatible, available via special-order." This is backwards from what she needs, her hearing is good.

I've learned that he wants to possibly merge her phone plan wiht his Verizon accoount.

Also, I will look into the T-Mobile programs, thanks for the suggestion.

Looking into the TTY, that may be waht she ends up needing to do. Does the Q have large text and is it handwriting compatible? and at what area of the screen is it touch sensitive for handrwiting?

THe good news is they where able to reattach her tounge, another 6 hours of surgery is planned for friday.
 
The q is not hand writing or touch screen capable, but there is a phone on verizon that is, the xv6700, has handwriting, touchscreen, plus the keyboard has large keys for easy typing.
 
Thanks for the info, I hadn't had a chance to try the q yet, but the sales clerk said it could, but required a $60 a month connection fee on top of the minutes plan. So It was probably going to be knocked out of the choice anyways.

This sounds, good. Do they have to lock her in a contract for two years, or will they be flexible with her disablities that we pray go away.

Also the .40 pay per use? this is for voice calls she receives?
Does Cingular have info on the website?
