Well a couple of weeks ago my friend left for europe. He gave me his phone and I was like why dont you take it with you but he said he's just gonna get another one so i was like okay. I didnt think I was gonna be needing the fone till I lost mine yesterday. So i turned on the phone and it says that the phone is locked. Its a Sony Ericsson w600i. I asked him what his code was and he said that he doesnt remember. Is there a way to unlock it? Or is the phone useless?

Does it ask for a phone lock code, or a PUK lock code? If it's a PUK code, you should call your provider. If it's the actual phone lock code, try '00000' or '12345'. If you need to reset the code, you're going to need to flash the phone's firmware so that everything is resetted to default. One easy way to flash the fw is through wotanserver.com. Just use the supplied data cable and follow the instructions through the 'Getting Started' guide supplied by wotanserver.
