Phone Got Stolen >_>

My 1.25 year old Motorola Sliver L7 got stolen/lost(though I'm almost sure it was stolen) a few days back. I'm not crying about it, I'll say that. It was a slow phone, and the iTunes broke two days after I got it. Nevertheless, I am still phoneless.
However, I have a two year(family plan) contract, and I lack insurance.I deactivated the phone, so I can't see if I can get that nifty upgrade thing, but I doubt I can.
My questions are:

Do I have to pay the full,unlocked price for a new phone? I saw some pretty nice Sony Ericsons for $80 with plan, but $270 without. And since my budget is pretty much $100...:sad:

What happens to my number?

I have a French (Orange) Sony Ericson that is locked. Can I get it unlocked and use it to replace my SLVR? I got the Tri/Quad-band one, so it should work stateside.

If I wait until August/September for my contract to end, will I still get upgrade points?

you might be able to swing an upgrade, call customer care and tell them what happened, try to play on their sympathies.

If not, than check ebay, you can usually get a good deal on a decent phone.
