So im trying to get my dad to throw away his crappy nokia. I let him try a few of the phones i have used in the past and he keeps going back to his nokia. Hes really picky on the features he wants. He wants
Good Signal & Battery LifeVoice RecorderMP3 Player & FM Radio(NOT A MUST ON THE RADIO)
Im leaning more towards the SE walkman line. I myself havnt touched a SE for many years. Nokia all the way . Also no keyboards. I gave him my E61 and he got really confused. Same with my 8700R. He could not figure out how to dial.

Any ideas people?

He's probably returning to his Nokia for a reason. Most Nokia users get very used to the interface and for good reason. I'd probably get him an 8801 Nokia. Very well built, solid performer. Not the greatest battery life and no music but the trade off is build quality and I'd rather have a quality phone and a seperate mp3 player. What crappy nokia is he using? It's amazing how some people keep those old phones forever, they just love em and can't give em up. My dad is like that but he does like his new 8801.

Im not sure of the model. Nokia 60** something. He got it from rogers awhole ago. Very basic S40 phone. No BT or camera..

The whole point of the upgrade is to get rid of the 3 of the 4 devices he carries. He carries a small voice recorder. Its all digital so no tapes but still very old school. Next is the MP3 player. He has an ipod but does not carry it around becuase if its size. Also he has a small FM radio. He also has a small USB drive but hes relized no phone can really replace that without carring around a cable. the reason why he keeps rejecting the phones is becuase none really fit his needs. IE, BB 8700R has no mp3 player, E61 does not have a sterio headset. Its not like he dosnt want to give it up, nothing fits his needs so no point of getting something that does the same as his current phone.

Im leaning to a Windows Mobile phone as there are soooo many apps out there.

How about the Nokia 6230 or 6230i. It's still a S40 phone so it will probably be what he's use to. It has a FM tuner, and a memory card for the mp3 player, data storage, or recording. you can also record voice things. It's nice and small...buttons are really responsive. It's fairly cheap these days too

*also on the Windows Mobile, it might be alittle complicated for him too...I have found alot of users stay away from Windows Mobile cause there are too many windows you have to click through and such just to do simple things

6230i seems like a good one. Ill check it out! MMC is ouchy though. I got rid of my MMC cards awhile ago! Im trying to find if the headset will produce stereo sound.

As for Windows Mobile, its something id like to get him into as its so easy to sync with PC. Also way more apps around for WM. It also opens up windows for BT GPS and so on.

If I remember when I had it, it does go in stereo if you have a stereo headset...I just used my regular earpiece from jabra with the adapter and I used it to listen to the radio at work and it just looked like I had my earpiece in for my phone. Nobody knew.
