Hi, I don't know if this question belongs here, is my first post in this forum.

I'm planing on moving to cricket service, but the phones are really plain, I want to use my phone as MP3 Player and some internet functions, there is any phone that fully work whit Cricket that you recommend?? I just saw some phones on ebay like the PEARL 8130, does it fully work whit cricket services??

Thanks for your advices...

The answer to your questions is yes. You can get those phones and flash them to Cricket service. And depending on the manufacturer/model/carrier, you can actually get picture messaging and internet as well with your Cricket service.

And now for the catch:

It depenRAB on the market you are in. Tell us the city and state you are from. If it is an AWS market, you are stuck with Cricket or Metro PCS phone as AWS is 1700 and markets such as mine have the 1900 band. I hope this makes sense. Don't make the same mistake a lot of people make on here and go get a phone for use in the Chicago market, get it flashed and find out the hard way it won't even work.

Thanks for give some light to this mortal....
I'm living in Chicago, and if I can surf the net whit a blackberry then I'll be more than happy to look for one of them, it's nice to know that there are more option that we see.

Btw, in terms of phones that work in Chicago and what you want I would suggest the JetSet. It has 3G internet speed and an mp3 player that plays songs off a microSD card (up to 4GB, I know from experience). If you had a Palm PDA or laptop you could tether it to the phone using bluetooth or cord. The new iPod touch software might allow people to tether, idk. You can get it now on their website with a $50 mail-in rebate.

The Motorola Hint has similar specs as the JetSet but has a qwerty keyboard and a jack that fits regular headphones.

The Motorola Evoke just came out but it sold out on the website, it might be available in stores.

The cheapest phone with an mp3 player is the Motorola VE240. After the mail-in rebate it comes to $70. That one has web but it's not 3G.
