in DFU mode loop? iphone 3gs (new bootrom) 4.2.1, downgraded to 4.2b3 to save SHSH, now stuck in DFU mode loop?
ok.. i have a new bootrom iphone 3gs running 4.2.1 (redsn0w JB). i have SHSH from 4.0>4.2.1-except 4.2b3(which is needed to untether). i use tiny umbrella to start TSS Service and use redsn0w to put in PWNED DFU mode. i start itunes shift+restore, select iphone2,1_4.2_8C5115C_3gs_restore.ipsw. it passes through apple's server (really cydia's) verifies phone and goes through the COMPLETE restore process. it pops up the message iphone has been restored sucessfully please wait for iphone to reboot. then the message auto-closes and my phone stays black. a few seconds later itunes pops up with an iphone in restore mode has been dicovered. please restore to blah blah blah. i can not get it out of DFU mode for ANYTHING. i try holding home+power for minutes(plugged into comp and not plugged in) i have tried iREB( reboot loop fixer),still nothing. i am on windows XP. i have tried putting into pwned DFU mode from ireb. bypass apple's server with T.U. and goes through complete process. and does the exact same thing... please help!!! i have had to do 6 full restores today trying to figure it out. i just cant get it out of DFU mode. i have a mac mini osx snow leopard but TinyUmbrella doesnt want to work. i keep getting Cannon start TSS service. DO NOT TRY TO RESTORE. httpd (pid:xxxx) must be killed! so i go into apps>utilities>activity monitor. find the httpd processes (the root and -www) and try to kill them, but everytime i kill one, another comes back up. so i go into system prefs>sharing>and there is no web sharing option. i only have screen sharing, scanner sharing, remote login, remote management, remote apple events, and Bluetooth sharing... that is it. so it cant be apache? can it? if so.. please tell me how i can fix it. i really need to restore back to 4.2b3 so i can save my SHSH and then upgrade back to 4.2.1 and untether. and hints or tips are greatly appreciated. thanks!
