"What is government if words have no meaning?"
I wondered if that wasn't just a clever way of calling someone a hypocrite, or liar, without being overtly confrontational -an indirect or evasive offense.
If he is mentally challenged, I don't believe he is stupid. Regardless, his language might be awkward, but that could be deliberate, and if it is, it could be brilliant insofar as his legal defense might go. If he isn't mentally challenged -and there are a thousand different variables that could tip the scale either way in the determination of that- he could be frighteningly calculated. And, let's not pretend that all people who have been sadistically cruel have been seen as insane, when we know that some of them have ended up in exalted positions of leadership or authority throughout history.
I wonder what Laughner's tipping point was, what caused him to get violent, and specifically towards that leader, and then.
And, on the off chance that this guy is smarter than the press is giving him credit for, it makes me wonder al the more, if he is a lone wolf, or simply the first of his pack to strike out, at our government, or society in general.
