Pharmacy wouldn't refill

not sure where to post this, so i decided to put it here.

i was prescribed tussionex this past wednesday. when i took a dose last night, there was a hair in the cup that came out of the bottle. yeah, gross.

so i called the pharmacy this morning (large supermarket chain), explained the situation, and asked if i could use my refill that i have on it. the pharmacist was beyond rude and said she would not refill it so soon, even though it was due to their (or the manufacturer) unsanitary practice. she said i should have kept the hair in the bottle to show them. i never even thought of that. i just threw it out and tried not to vomit.

so after she's rude and refuses my refill, she says, "you can get it transferred to another pharmacy if you want. we just can't do it here." huh? that made no sense to me. but i went ahead and called another pharmacy that said they'd fill it once the current pharmacy sent all the info over.

well, 30 min later, i get a call from the new pharmacy telling me they won't be able to do it. not much of an explanation, just said i needed to take it up with current pharmacy.

so, what i don't get is, why did this pharmacist #1 refuse my refill even though this was not due to any fault of mine and #2 tell me to transfer it and then obviously tell the new pharmacy not to fill it??

i am confused and not understanding what is going on here. i feel like i have been treated like i'm doing something wrong. can someone please explain this to me?

well, with it being the weekend, i won't be able to reach him.

i just don't get why she told me to transfer it, then obviously told the new pharmacy to not do it.

she also told me the earliest she could fill it would be wednesday. it is technically i 12 day scrip, but she said she could do it on wednesday, but not before. so, she will do it before the 12 days are up, but won't do it now, even though it is due to their neglegince? that is what has me stumped.

yes. live and learn. i know that now. but what i still don't get and what i guess none of you do either (bc no one has given me any ideas), is WHY did she tell me to transfer it and then obviously tell the new pharmacy not to fill it? i guess i feel like she treated me like some sort of drug seeker when i am not. this is only the second time i've gotten something filled there and this is how i was treated. i won't go back. that is for sure. but i guess i just don't get why she told me one thing and then did another. it made me look more stupid to the new pharmacy after i told them the pharmacist told me to transfer it, then when they call to do what i said, she (pharmacist) must have told them NOT to do this. ugh. i just don't get it. oh well. i've let it go.
