I am really stuck right now and an contemplating on which faculty I should put as my first choice when applying for my undergrad for University.
I honestly enjoy both sciences and business, but I can't seem to find which one is right for me.
My parent's are being supportive about either one, but they are personally recommending me to go into sciences, and later go into a medical related career such as pharmacy, medicine or dentistry. The reasons for this is that they are stable, well respected and "recession" proof careers that pay well. I completely agree with their statements and opinions and I definitely would like a reasonable job that has good hours and pays well. Pharmacy has been coming to my mind quite a lot. All I need is 1-2 years of pre-reqs in the sciences faculty and I can apply to my local Pharmacy school and take the PCAT.
On the other hand, I have taken business courses in high-school since grade 8. I have always excelled in them, enjoyed them and found them really interesting. I feel as though I could apply a lot of knowledge that I learned in business classes to real life. If I graduate with a bachelor of commerce I can get a decent job for about 40K a year if I am lucky. (Much LESS then a starting job as a pharmacist where I could easily get 70-90K a year STARTING). But the room for advancement in business related careers can be endless and I can work my way up with further education (MBA, doctorate, etc...)
I know these are a lot of questions, and I am know the decision comes down to me at the end, but what would you do if you were in my situation/what are some thoughts that you have.
