ph Question, if i raise it will my fish be ok?

I want to raise my ph in my 10 gal to about 8. I want to do this because i now have a new apple snail and he has been previously kept in real soft water so his shell is horrible. My question is if i add some cuttlefish (in the hard bird form) and raise my ph will my fish be ok?
I have 3 dwarf corys, 1 male betta a few neon tetras and my two apple snails. Thanks! =)

-note that i dont know what my ph is , ran out of kits but will test once i go buy more, last time it was about 6 and that was a while ago.

You should probably only raise it too 7. Hope I helped!
