Peter Jackson question

anyone else prefer his early splatter films Bad Taste and Braindead to his big budget epics now, Bad Taste is a cult classic IMO

loved Bad Taste and Braindead, loved LOTR trilogy, hated King Kong, but think i'm going to love The Lovely Bones based on early reviews

Yeap Bad Taste with the always hilarious and badly acted line "Hi I'm Barry lets go" and Braindead are both cult classics and both are a guilty pleasure of mine :)

But LOTR is just downright awe-inspiring and timeless cinema, so I'm quite happy Mr Jackson moved up a notch or ten to mess with the bigboys!

I'll never forget the chunder bowl from Bad taste (barf smillie)

Love BT & Braindead, as well as his new stuff (recently watched the lovely bones) hell, I even liked King Kong (but as an Adrian Brody and Naomi Watts fan I may be biased)!

I'd be interested in rewatching a documentary from years ago about jackson's pre Bad Taste work. I liked the fact that he scratched muzzle flashes into the film reel because he had no access to any special effects(and his guns were made out of wood)

Let's not forget the underated The Frighteners.
After the poor performance and reception for The Lovely Bones I half expect Jackson to 'do a Raimi' and make his own Drag Me to Hell type horror flick next.
Or maybe enough time has passed to remake The Frighteners. Or indeed Meet the Feebles!

I think PJ has enough on his plate directing a Tintin film and producing the 2 LotR prequels before he starts thinking about other projects. I think he was linked to a Halo film project a while back which would be kind of interesting - SciFi is a genre he's not really got into and I think he'd be excellent.

Peter Jackson has been talking about making a mini-series out of Naomi Novik's book series featuring the dragon Temeraire. As I've read all her books I would love PJ to turn his considerable talent to this story, especially as the books feature Naploleon and the Royal Navy battling it out with the aid of dragons :D

I interviewed him in NZ years ago before he got big. Around Braindead time. Meet the Feebles and Braindead were great.

I'd love him to go back to his roots and make another splatterfest.
