I was really close to getting a chinchilla, but then realized that the temp of the house was too high. I don't want to put any lives at risk simply because I want it. Mom won't let me turn down the air any.
She won't let me get a ferret because she says that they smell terrible and are nasty, dirty animals.
I asked her for a rabbit, still no response, and I'm guessing she'll say no. My sister had a boy bunny that sprayed EVERYWHERE and she had to clean the cage multiple times daily.
How can I try and convince my mom that ferrets don't smell near as bad if they are cared for properly (proper diet and stuff), bathing, and weekly cage cleanings?
If that doesn't work, and she DOES say no to a rabbit, how can I convince her that females don't spray like males do?
Also, I'm confident that if she does let me get one or the other, that I'll be able to litter train it.
I'll be the one paying for everything. Cage, food, accessories, the actual animal...
I also have to sugar gliders, which are supposed to smell quite a bit as well, but she has never said anything about them smelling. Personally, the only time I can smell them is when they pee or poop on me. I can't even smell them when they're less than an inch from my face.
