Trouble codes
0101, p0410
Symptoms:
Major lack of power on acceleration, engine stumbles at highway speed, sometimes at city speeds also in colder weather.
The stumbling occurs when the engine is kept at a steady rpm, and every 30 seconds or so i feel a hesitation
(the car jerks a little feels like a loss of power for a second and then goes back to normal for another 30 sec).
I am also experiencing bad gas mileage: 13mpg average. I also see whitish smoke from ex-oust on hard acceleration.
In a attempt to fix the problem i replaced:
Air Filter
MAF Sensor (p0101)
MAP Sensor
Fuel Filter
Spark Plugs
Water Pump/Belt/Thermostat (pump was going bad)
Serpentine Belt (belt was cracked)
I also cleaned out the throttle body and its components including the EGR valve, i checked for air leaks and didn't find any.
P0410 code indicates a bad Secondary Air Pump which appears to be working since i hear a vacum cleaner sound on cold
start.
I took the vehicle to a mechanic and he tested the TP sensor and was told that it was working fine, and that he can not figure
out the cause of my problems.
Any Ideas on what could be causing my problems would be very appreciated
