what are we actually looking how do we perceive it, how can i explain what it is that the dot appears to how do i explain my perception of it why and how do i perceive it as being black.

I know some of these questions are highly philosphical and may not be even possible to answer some of them but please help me understand, and also is this something necessary for me to understand, would it help me of my understanding of the world would it benefit me or is there any point to it?

perception can never be absulote because, as much as we love to say we are self conscious animals, we will never know if that is absolutely true because if we are not self conscious by any chance then we will be restricted to percieving things in ways in which they are not really meant to be percieved meaning that we think to ourselves "im concious of my thoughs because such and such fact" but in reality we really aren't concious and we only think we are.
Then there is the arguement that we are concious and we percieve things correctly. For example, the mirror test, shows that humans are in fact self conscious. Also, even though we percieve things wrong sometimes(optical illusions, etc.) we are conscious enough to realize we percived wrong and realize WHY we percieved them wrong.
