Chaucer, Philip Larkin, ....? People who say "profanity is a sign of a limited vocabulary".. What about Chaucer, Philip Larkin, D. H. Lawrence, William Shakespeare, Winston Churchill, Ian Banks, and many more...

Swear words are part of the vocabulary and at times appropriate. Do you think that the above show any lack of vocabulary?
