People who say CGI looks fake when it doesn't?

Ok, to start off, I am very well aware of freedom of speech and having an opinion. However, for me there is a fine line between having an opinion, and being just plain arrogant. I have watched a lot of movies in my time, most of which consisted of CGI. Now I can tell when CGI looks fake, and when it looks flat out realistic. I'll give a few examples.

Peter Jackson's King Kong remake. The scene where they are being attacked by giant insects. I thought the insects looked incredibly realistic. To me it felt like the actors were really there, and being attacked by giant insects. The scene to which had a few moments that looked fake or, you could tell the actors were in front of green screen was during the brontosaurus stampede.

Michael Bay's Transformers: Dark of the Moon. Pretty much all of the scenes involving CGI looked realistic except for one shot where you see Sam being swung across the screen in slow motion by Starscream.

Roland Emmerich's' 2012. I think every moment of that movie in terms of CGI was spectacular. I didn't really see any shot that looked like it needed more work.

Recently I came across a youtube comment on the earthquake scene from 2012. The shot where the plane is flying through the collapsing freeway was my favorite shot in the whole movie. I myself thought it was very realistic. However, there wasone userrout off the other 567 who simply stated "The falling highway looks so ****ing fake."

So here is my question. Is the said user just ignorant? Does he need glasses? Or is he just trolling? I simply fail to see how a movie like 2012 with some of the most amazing apocalyptic special effects can have someone saying they look fake. The film won 2 awards during the 2009 Satellite Awards for best sound and best visual effects. My source for this claim ----> http://www.chacha.com/question/did-the-movie-2012-win-any-oscar-awards

Please take note that I do not watch films just for their special effects. I have a passion for wanting to make movies and I enjoy seeing special effects because it's something that isn't real, and when it looks real it amazes me. Especially special effects for syfy films. Those always get my imagination going. I simply find it insulting when I see someone say something looks fake when in fact it looks jaw droppingly realistic.
