I noticed some testimonies in the news about how some families are coping with the recession. Most of these families still have two incomes and are just whining about how they have to lower their standards and how their kids have to work now in order to pay for education and whatnot. What about people who were already doing this before? My standards have already been lowered as a college student. I went to college know that it was inevitable that I was going to be working to make it through. It seems to me like most of these families aren't going through anything but a case of reality. People are complaining about borrowing from one credit card to pay another while there are people that have no where to borrow from and have to scrape coins to keep food in their mouths.
not complaining, but making observations.

Good point. People nowadays are spoiled and will pay the price for that. Food, shelter, transportation, utilities and clothing (not exactly in that order). Everything else is irrelevant.

Hello? This whole economic mess isn't just the governments fault, we hold some blame too. If we weren't so busy surpassing the Jones and robbing Peter & Paul to pay Harry then we wouldn't be in such a hole now. Those of us who have been responsible and lived within our means will make it through this.

those who are borrowing from one credit card to pay another are already in deep trouble... its harder to drop down in living standards than to move up, its like all your future time, effort and work will be spent to return a worse life for yourself than you currently have and there isn't a way for you to provide a childhood for your own children as nice as the one you had, this leads to not wanting to have children at all, and it leads to not caring what happens to the country as you yourself have already been sold out to those richer than you.
