I'm curious. I've been with my boyfriend 5 years, and while I was never the type to ditch my friends for a guy, over the years I've noticed I don't really make new friends anymore. You know things change, people move on, ect. and with that I've noticed I only stick to my very closest friends and I don't really have the time for new ones and it kind of sucks becuase with college and jobs everyone is moving away. I see my boyfriend pretty much everyday, we're moving intogether in a few months, have a great relationship, ect. but I've noticed I don't make new friends, it's like I just don't call people or anything like that and with my friends I've known a long time we don't do that. My boyfriend even agreed, most of his friends got jobs far away after graduating so he spends most of his time with me. I mean, people in long term relationships did this or does this happen to you? How do you wokr on making and maintaining new friendships?
I agree! When I tried googling it all these things came up about dating abuse and cutting someone off from their friends haha it's nothing like that....I just notice I'm not as social. Like say at school I'll talk to a girl in class all the time, exchange numbers, maybe text about assignments, but then after that class ends I never call or hang out with her that type of thing.
