People calling my contacts from my phone?

Like 4 people called me and asked me if I just called them. I didn't call anybody almost all day and they said the people were saying I have the flu and all of this crap.

Is it possible for someone to call a contact off of my phone without actually having my phone?!?!?!?!?!? how do I stop this.
