Penicillin VK Side Effects? Please help!

I went to the dentist last tuesday (Jan 4th) and he said I had a slight infection back where my one wisdom tooth is located, so he put me on Penicillin VK 500mg (every 6 hours). 4 days later, my lower throat started to feel tight and it was uncomfortable to swallow. could this be a side effect or allergy from Penicillin? i'm supposed to take 2 more doses today, 4 tomorrow and thursday and my last 2 doses on friday but I don't want to if this is a serious allergy or side effect from Penicillin. You would think I would have had problems right away, but the throat tightness didn't start til 4 days later (Saturday evening). is that possible? and the tightness seems to be the worst at night after taking my 4th dose. is there anyone in the medical field on here who has the best answer for me? I need to know if I should stop taking it. Thanks!
 
It is possible to get an allergic reaction to an antibiotic on the 4th day. However, you say you've been having this since Saturday? If it was a genuine dangerous allergic reaction, I think you'd be covered in ugly swollen hives by now!
