Pearl 2 Commericals for T-Mobile

I have seen several commericals for the Pearl 2 for T-Mobile. It has a collect of about 5 different colors and the looks of the Pearl 2. I thought that the Pearl 2 wasn't available for T-Mobile or AT&T yet..

In the commerical it says "The Pearl Collection from T-Mobile." But the Pearl in the commerical is the Pearl 2, it isn't the Pearl 1. So even though it doesn't say Pearl 2, the whole commerical displays the 2nd one which I thought was really weird...

I just went onto the T-Mobile website and I looked at the Pearls. Why do they have the Pearl2 style keypad, and AT&T doesn't?

You are mistaken. Both the commercial and the pictures on the T-Mobile website are all the original Pearl. BTW, the original Pearl comes in 5 colors.

this is the keypad for AT&T: http://www.wireless.att.com/cell-phone-service/cell-phone-details/?device=BlackBerry%C2%AE+Pearl&q_sku=sku950151

this is the keypad for T-Mobile: http://www.t-mobile.com/shop/phones/Detail.aspx?device=5f3a0ef3-fde1-4cbd-8cb3-31bb9e08d7e2

the actual color of the phones is different. but do you see what I mean in the keypad being totally different? T-mobile has the Pearl2 style keypad whereas AT&T doesn't. I just don't understand why they are different. I'm sorry for all the confusion.

The only difference is the color and the graphics. The T-Mobile and Cingular/AT&T Pearls have always been different in this aspect. The coloring/graphics might make it appear different, but it's not if you check carefully. The keypads are exactly the same. If you want to know what a Pearl2 style keyboard looks like, check out the below picture:

Notice how the top 4 buttons are larger on the Pearl2 and there is no separator between them and the rest of the keys. Also notice how the top two middle buttons are attached on the bottom on the Pearl2.

I guess the T-Mobile phone isn't exactly the same as the Pearl2.
But the T-Mobile Pearl is indeed different then the AT&T Pearl. Look at the Alt key for example. On my pearl it says "ALT" it doesn't have the up and down arrows. They are different. Also the middle keys on T-Mobile are separated by the numbers and the letters in different colors, whereas AT&T the middle buttons are all white.

What's the deal....they are not different.....just the colors and graphics are different. The colors/graphics have always been different between T-Mobile and AT&T. But the keypads are the same.

The T-Mobile color and graphics for the Pearl has always been this way. In fact the Pearl for all carriers except AT&T look like T-Mobile's color and graphics. AT&T is the only oddball.

I looked back on the AT&T page and edited my post. On MY pearl the alt key is simple just "ALT." It doesn't have the up and down arrows. I got my phone just a little over a month ago. I'm sorry I feel like I'm frustrating everyone but I assure you that my pearl looks different.

Here's a close up of T-Mobile's Pearl.....all the keys are the same as AT&T's except the coloring and graphics.
