i just installed a pcvIII from fuel moto on my 06 roadking, a whole lot less decell pop seems to be running much better, i also just swithced to royal purple synthetic in all three holes, my oil temp guage reads about 233 degrees after about 30 min of highway driving my question is is this temp about right or do you think i need to have jamie send a different map for alil tweek..thanks in advance

I'm sure you mean a PCIII or a PCV.

IMO: I think your oil temp fine, and nothing to worry about.
If it starts to climb above above ~250

According to the couple of legit motorcycle tech's I know, with dino you can way over 300 before the oil starts to break down, but other problems would appear before you got that hot. 230 to 260 is normal for my Ultra. I would like to fatten up my map a tad and see how much of difference that makes. It also depends on your bike. My bike runs hotter than say a soft tail etc, because I have the fairing lowers which block air flow to the engine somewhat.

What did it read before? The map that you likely already have is optimized for cooling and performance, unless you asked for a map that emphasizes gas mileage, so it isn't likely you'll do much better with a map change. A rich map helps with cooling but it isn't a panacea, and it won't protect from heat in exceptional conditions like heavy summer traffic. An oil cooler is at least a wise addition to your bike, and IMO an essential upgrade for all TC engines, as it will help control peak oil temperatures.

Oil oxidizes continually and exponentially as temperature increases, and it is best to keep oil at a sane temperature as much as possible. You can't really say that synthetic is "okay to 300
