I have a credit card with Chase which I basically used to live on through my last year of college. I have a high balance on it for that reason. I stupidly applied for a Amazon credit card that is run through Chase and was rejected for obvious reasons - I have a high balance they would be crazy to give me more.
However, I have never missed any payments on the card and am always on time even though some of the payments have been just the minimum. But now I would like to just pay it off since I now have the money.
So what is the best way to do this to boost my credit? Pay it all off ASAP? make a few large payments over the next month? Pay immediately down to 25% of my limit?
And will this give my credit a boost?
BTW I plan to continue using the card after I pay it off for small things and paying off the balance every month.
Thanks!
