Pay As You Go Deal Questions?

Alright So I'm kinda interested the whole Pay as you Go thing with Verizon and I'm interested in the power plan. But I also have a ton of questions. So anyone who knows a lot about the Power Plan ( the one where you pay 2.99 for) can you send me a message?

I'd rather have one person answer all my questions, rather then have 10 people answering individual ones.

Well, I'm not going to send you a person PM or an email on this topic, but will outline how everything works with the plan your talking about right here. I'll tell you all you need to know. If you have any further questions, you can communicate with me via email (by using my signature "SEND ME AN EMAIL" button. You can also send me a PM...but email is preferred and faster.

Verizon Wireless is reinventing the way users think of Prepay. On February 11, they have released new plans for prepaid and eliminated some previously well known plans. Most stores will still be activating customers on older plans until March 15. You can call customer service, after activation, to change your plan.

New Pricing:

They have four plans: Prepaid Unlimited Talk, Prepaid Plus, Prepaid Core, and Prepaid Basic.

The Power Plan you were interested in has been retired...but you may be able to still get it, for a limited time.

With Verizon Wireless, the daily access fee is only billed on days you use your phone for voice calls...basically any time it rings...the daily access fee is billed one time. Texting doesn't trigger the daily access fee.

Prepaid Unlimited Talk: Daily Access - $3.99

  • Mobile To Mobile Calling - Unlimited
  • Night and Weekend Minutes - Unlimited
  • All other minutes - Unlimited
  • Text Messages Send/Receive - $0.01

Prepaid Plus: Daily Access - $1.99

  • Mobile To Mobile Calling - Unlimited
  • Night and Weekend Minutes - Unlimited
  • All other minutes - $0.05
  • Text Messages Send/Receive - $0.05

Prepaid Core: Daily Access - $0.99

  • Mobile To Mobile Calling - Unlimited
  • Night and Weekend Minutes - $0.10
  • All other minutes - $0.10
  • Text Messages Send/Receive - $0.10

Prepaid Basic: Daily Access - none

  • $0.25 per minute at any time of the day, week, and to any number.
  • $0.20 per text message send/receive

Unlimited Messaging is available for prepaid subscribers. It is $20 per month (subtracted from your total balance on the account). This gives you unlimited messaging to anyone, any network, in the U.S.

They also have Unlimited Mobile to Mobile messaging. This is $10 per month which allows you to text all Verizon Wireless customers for free. This also includes merged Alltel customers. They give you an allowance of 250 messages send/receive to text anyone that does not have Verizon Wireless. This includes shortcodes (as seen on TV).

This is the new layout for the Verizon Wireless plans. If you would like to know about the older plans, which may still be available in most areas, feel free to send me an Email.

Wow, so technically if I signed up for the Prepaid unlimited Talk plan, but never actually called but just texted, then I'd only have to pay 1 cent for all incoming and outgoing texts? And if I got the other $10 per month, then I can call any Verizon customer for free too, no strings attached? Wow, that's pretty awesome. Play my cards right, I'll hardly have to pay at all. That answered almost all of my questions. Do you by any chance also have extensive knowledge on the different phones they have for this plan, specifically the Motorola W385? If not, thanks anyways, anyone else who has this phone, feel free to reply! Thank you! :)

I'm a little confused when you mentioned $10...in the statement...not so sure. For $10 a month, you get unlimited mobile to mobile texting + 250 off network. Yes, the daily access is only billed when used for voice calls.

You can activate any Verizon Wireless device that is not Mobile TV or Push to Talk capable. You also cannot activate any HTML browser phone. All other phones are fair game...but if they aren't marketed/sold as prepaid phones, you would be forced to pay full retail for them. Some phones are sold prepaid versions, so those are cheaper.
