I got a speeding ticket back in August and two weeks later got a letter telling me to clear my violation by paying or showing up in court by 10/13/09. For some reason I kept thinking that it was November 13th and just yesterday I looked at the letter again and realized that I'm a few days past that date. So I went to court today but apparently the court is closed today so I'll go back in tomorrow. However I was wondering what are they gonna do? Could I just explain what happened and state that it was an innocent mistake on my part? I live in California, Bay area.
Past the date to pay or show up in court for my traffic ticket?
