Password for memos

I've had my Palm TX for over a month now. It is my first PDA. I seem to learn something about it almost everytime I use it. I have also been reading this forum to learn more about it. I do have a specific question in regards to using the memo program that comes with it. It has an option to mask or hide the memo and at some point gives a popup note that refers to a password. Is there some way to password protect the memos?

Thanks
John

Congrats on getting your first PDA! The T|X is a great device.

To answer your question, use Applications to go to Preferences, and choose Password.

In Password, enter a password which will be used to secure your device and/or specific items.

After entering a password in the Preference area, you can now password protect your memos. Click on the memo, then click on Details button, and you'll see a checkbox with the word "Private" next to it. Check this box (will only work AFTER you've entered a password in the Preference area) and your memo will be protected!

Now that I have the password assigned to a memo that I created on my TX, It doesn't not seem to sync the memo to the computer. Is that correct or is it hidden from view?

Check Palm Desktop. Go to Memos, then click on "View", and you can choose "Hide" (completely hidden), "Mask", (secret memos have title blocked out, so you can see that you have a memo, but can't even read it's title until you click on it) or "Show", (shows all hidden memos).

Your password protected memos ARE hotsynced to your desktop, you just probably have "Hidden" selected.

Congrats on your new T|X... great device!
