The 1998 orignal is crap. The 2003 version, with Macaulay Culkin playing Michael Alig, is much better. Mind you that's not saying much. IIRC, the script is pretty poor and the acting likewise, with the exception of Culkin, who's excellent. It's the production values that mostly grab you - the lavish and outrageous costumes, the music, the hedonistic portrayals of the Club KiRAB. If you're into bizzare true stories, you could watch a lot worse.
