Parrot cichild fish - need advice !! :)?

I've just bought a Parrot Cichild fish,
And im wondering what is the best type of food for them?
At the moment im just feeding her the normal fish pellets, but i have a feeling this isn't the best thing. But in the meantime - how much should i give her?
Also, what is the best temperature for the tank?
And, what fish besides other parrots is she compatable with?
