I'm 16 and our college have organised a residential camping trip for 3 days 2 nights. It's a tradition at the college and everyone and I mean everyone is going apart from me. It's not the cost my parents are worried about (only £30) but they don't think it's safe. The place we're camping at is a monitored site and has not had any problems that anyone knows of, and we're only going to be doing archery and that type of thing, but my parents watch the news too much and think it's unsafe for a 16 year old to go... I feel so embarassed to tell others my parents won't let me go and even my form teacher has asked why I won't be going. Are my parents being unreasonable?

your parents are telling you not to go, because they care for you. otherwise why would they say.. even though that place is safe where you are going for camping, but still it's never too late for a miss happen or something bad.. you can do something else instead.. you can go with your parents to the movies.. or go out to eat.. and you know what being with your family is more fun than being with your friends,, this time never comes again.
hope this will help.

Yea I have the same problem...my parents won't let me go to israel cause it's not "safe"...try to show them that your mature enough...see if you can make an agrrement with them..
