Will a blackberry bush survive if I plant it in a large pot?
Can I expect it to yield a lot of fruit or would I be better off planting it in the ground?

The reason I ask is because we have issues with rabbits in our area and I want to keep my plant from being eaten!

It can survive in a pot, but honestly, most fruit bushes do better in the ground. Try planting some marigolds around it. Rabbits don't like them for some reason, and tend to stay away. Also, a lot of gardening store sell fox urine, and that keeps most small animals out of an area pretty well.

it will do better in the ground. it will get very little fruit in a pot. besides, it is a vine so it will be straggly. just plant a fence (chicken wire, etc.) around it to keep the rabbits away.

fyi: this is in the wrong section. should be in the gardening section. why are you asking parents? i don't have kids but i have a garden every year.
