Parents please answer In news about lax parenting well mine have not read that?

Is it fair that at 20 (yes not even a teen) I get mum and dad having ago because I was out all night and didn't tell them. Just had a row like a 13 year old and ended up swearing. Not usual cos I usually get on fine, but when you hear how kids today are getting away with murder, have I got like victorian ones? Also how do I resolve it I feel they are wrong,
I am moving out end of Sept to uni so its not like they have to put up with it for long and it is the FIRST time its happened

Your parents probably reacted that way because they were worried sick about you. Had they expected that you would be out all night, they might have reacted differently. As a previous poster said, you do live under their roof. They still reserve the right to call the shots.

See if there is a way to compromise with them for the next time that you go out so that you can avoid this problem & stress. Good luck!

my mother put me out when i was 14 because her boyfriend raped me she is now married to him you should be grateful that you have a family that cares for your safety and well being if your going to be out late you should tell them before you go out or phone them so they don't worry its not childish its common courtesy you live with them after all

If you're still living under their roof at 20 yrs old then, no you don't have the right to be angry and think they're wrong. Sadly, you're under their roof babe. They make the rules, and until you move out on your own their going to continue to expect you to follow their rules. Sorry, that's just the way it goes. If I were you, I'd move out.

You are in the wrong here - if you are going to stay out all night let them know! How long does it take to send a text? They were probably awake half the night worrying abut you. My son is 21 and he always texts if he is going to stay out.
