I live with my mom and am trying to apply for Medicaid and financial aid to go to school. I had my drivers license taken away and it's tough to find a job right now. Anyway, on both applications, it is clearly stated that they require the financial information for the person applying and everyone else that lives with the applicant, even if they are not applying. They are the Medicaid, FAFSA and TAP applications.
The problem is that she refuses to fill in the rest of the information that I need to fill out the forms correctly, and claims that she does not have to give any of her information since I am over the age of 21. It does not say anything like this on the applications, so I'm not sure what to do. I just want to fill them out correctly and do everything right.
I showed her the website where it says that the department of education requires this information to properly figure out the amount that the student is eligible for, and that the information is safe, etc. But still she refuses and gets very angry when I try to explain that these things are required on all these applications as it clearly states on them.
Yes, I try to tell her all of that. About how, well, it says right there on the form, that it has to be filled in and everything. It's even in caps and underlined. But she just will always turn around and say that she doesn't have to do it for some reason or another. Today she said that she called Medicaid and said that they told her that the application is just for me and she doesn't have to do anything, and also because I am over 21.
The same thing happened last year when I was trying to get out of here and go school at Full Sail, and led to her screaming at me because she wouldn't fill in the info that I don't know on the forms.
