Parents, at what age did you take your children camping?

By camping, I mean a designated area in National Parks with nothing more than a pit toilet and usually no phone reception! We went there for the first time as my older turned 3 last weekend and he loved it.
However, with another one on the way, we might make a return to "civilised" holidays for the next couple of years!
 
my daughter was almost1.5 yrs old, our son 2.5 yrs old. we camped in a tent ( they slept in pack n plays ) and we camped at the beach, it was great and we now do it every year
 
I took my kids camping while they were still in diapers. They have always loved it. True, it is alot of work for the parents when they are really young, because you sure can't give them much freedom in a situation like that for fear they might get hurt. But, I am a firm believer in giving your kids every possible good experience you can.
 
I haven't taken my kids yet, but next year we will be going. Next summer they will be 4 and 2. I have heard the earlier you bring them .. the easier it is!!!

Sounds like tons of fun!!! i loved camping as a kid
