parents: a question about the cartoons your children watch?

so i have two younger cousins who love cartoons and many times those sneaky boogers steal my remote, i have noticed a phenomenon with the cartoons they watch and possibly a revelation about the ones i watched as a child. i am not talking about once generally meant for 4-6 year old but more around 7-10 year old girls. this phenomenon is that the cartoons are geared for 7-10 year old kids but the characters themselves are typically teenagers... i kinda thought about it for awhile and maybe the creators of the cartoons use marketing the older teenagers bodies as in you can't put breasts on a 7 year old but you can a 16 or 17 year old, biologically speaking a beautifully full figured girl grabs our attention even if the first thought isn't sexual or even if she isn't just booming with bosoms. but then again that is a little rational since we are just talking about childrens cartoons. i was wondering what you believe is the cause of the this phenomenon, its kinda puzzling. the most popular childrens cartoons are ones with teenage characters. just curious about the parents point of view was on the subject.
THANK YOU!
