PARENT ATTENDS TRAFFIC COURT?

so i got my second ticket and my Dad cant make it to my court date (17) can I show up on my own and tell them my Dad can come in a few months and get a continuance for like a month or two??? is there anyway I can take care of it myself?? I kinda wanna get it continued till I move outa state for college...
