Paranormal Activity, pah !

Maybe it plays better in a packed cinema full of 15 year olRAB but on DVD I found it more annoying than scary.

It took an hour to get to anywhere nearing spooky.

Surely the ( Blair Witch, Cloverfield ) hand held video dairy style film has had its day.

spooked the hell out of me. someone else i recommended it to had to turn it off half way through for a 15 minute break she was so terrified. best horror film ive seen in ages IMHO

I thought it was great in a packed cinema, I didnt know too much about before hand so was pleasantly surprised and shocked at times.

I enjoyed it, watched it on my own in the dark :p

Took a while to get going but then it was quite interesting. I watched the 3rd ending I think....you read the different ones on wikipedia.

All in all great film for the budget they had.....dunno how many could make a movie like that with $15k

Easy.

The camcorder was a Sony FX that can be picked up for about 2k,or leased for much less. There lower level actors came very cheap. The house belonged to the director,so they didn't have to rent a home for x number of weeks. Also, the spooky set pieces were so basic that anybody savvy in photo/film editing software could create them.

I love horror films but they don't scare me. PA, though, made me jump a few times. I liked that it was so basic. The closing scene was just brilliant.

I like it but the boyfriend character kind of ruined the film for me. Don't know if it was a poor writing, direction or acting but instead of coming across as a sceptic and protective etc he came across as one of the typical morons you get being killed off in slasher movies for breaking the horror movie 'rules'.

A bit of everything I expect. :D

Like I say, I thought it was very good, but some of the details I mentioned were mostly unnecessary and served to pull me out of the moments sometimes.

It cost 15k!?

I'd love to know where they spent it. :D

If it's what I'm thinking of, it was pretty spooky and chilling. Couple living in a house where paranormal activity starts happening which is always being recorded through a camcorder?

yep thats the one. originally hollywood was going to remake it with an impressive budget but spielberg told them it was perfect the way it was and to release it like that.

I'm a big wimp so it took me ages to go and see this. In the end, I wish I hadn't. Most boring piece of overated crap I have ever seen.

I was sitting there watching two people asleep and a door slamming shut...

That was possibly the highlight of the film.

The OH and I watched this a couple of months ago. After all the hype, I was really nervous, but we ended up watching 3/4 of it and turning it off. Couple wake up, a door slams, they go to bed, repeat. Found it disappointing and not scary at all! So we decided to watch Paranormal Entity. Exactly the same thing which we also turned off! lol
