Paranormal Activity 2

There's also a cool hidden feature in the trailer. (when the shot flashes up of the woman stood in the door way - quickly drag back the duration slider as if to re-wind and you'll trigger the feature)

Did it, it looks very good not long yet till its out, i think the demon may be after the baby in this movie going by the hidden feature :D :D

wow, you're real tough ;)

I wish people would start to actually explain what they didn't like about a film or why they didn't do a certain thing whilst watching it (jump, laugh, be on the edge of their seat).

So here's the question, why didn't you jump? Did you feel the scares coming before they did? Could you not get into the feel of the film to let it draw you into the world?

Am I asking too much for some forum members to give actual reasons rather than five word answers :(

saw this today and didn't think its was any better or worse than the first just on par with it, if theirs one negative thing i have to say

that i feel they should have left the reason about the first male being the sacrifice for making a deal with the devil as it could of left the question for why katie took hunter at the end of the film for a possible 3rd film

:)

Well, the first movie was freaky enough - VERY well made.

The second one looks even worse lol - a dog? A baby? CAN YOU IMAGINE THE HORRFYING THINGS THEY CAN DO WITH THEM?!
I've seen like a full length trailer for the second one and there's
a scene in it where they're walking around the dark house with a handheld camera and they turn round and the demon woman thing is like right next to them in close up. I actully nearly crapped myself.

Went to see it this afternoon and really enjoyed. thought it would be good building up to the release but got a bit jittery in the last few days, i'm glad my initial feeling was right.

I certainly jumped at the same part that everyone else jumped at. I don't know if it will work the same at home as it does at the cinema.

I can only imagine that the majority of people who didn't like it also didn't like the 1st one, and after seeing the trailers, i don't know what they were expecting and some others seem intent on telling the world that nothing scares them.

It does what it says on the tin, no more, no less and that was good enough for me.

As unscary and hilarious the first could of possibly been, i am up for seeing the second as the ending did leave me wanting a little bit more.

Thanks for the link. I knew there was gonna be a sequel just didn;t think it would be this year.

Looks like it's gonna use a lot of cheap scares to me. I really enjoyed PA, but I'm not looking forward to this one. Of course, I'll take a look, but I'm not expecting much.

Saw it and loved it better then the first

Still funny but more scarier and actually made me jump about 4 times. The cinema was packed. Full of students such as myself. I have never in my life ever had to line up to wait to get into a movie. I mean i got my tickets hours in advance but to actually go in and see the movie, there was a huge line coming out to where you buy the food.

The PA films are more entertaining in the cinema, in the darkness than at home in the daylight.

It looks like the makers have taken all the scary parts from the first movie and recreated them 100 times and stuffed it all in the 2nd one.

Ill still be watching it though

I just don't find things like this scary its cheap jumps its not horror its just things jumping around etc. I like more story based psychological horrors not these stupid non story horror films.

Paranormal stuff scares me, so this type of movie is one that appeals. I enjoy your slasher based horror but this one plays more on what I'd consider frightening.

I think a lot of people prefer the guts and gore that Saw and Hostel offer, but that's more gross then it really is scary.

The idea of something you can't see freaks me out. It takes away every bit of control you have and that's where the fear lies. Blair witch scared me for the same reasons and I thought PA was excellent.

What I hope they haven't done is made this too hollywood. I don't want to 'see' the thing causing the problems - a glimpse is far more freaky then full on reveals. A shadow is more terrifying then seeing the physical form casting it. There will be much of the same though - shaky camera, night visions, doors opening and closing but I hope it will develop some of the first films concepts and not wrap it up with sugar.

I've only seen the original ending of PA but I believe the released version is far weaker.

Look forward to seeing some reviews once it's released next week

I thought it was terrible. I didn't like the first so I don't know why I expected to like this one.

I jumped twice, but other than that - I found it very dull and tedious.

The first was definitely creepier.

Looks good from whats there,i thought the first movie was exellent,i nearly sh*t my pants at the scene where the demon lets out a scream lol i think my surround sound helped,id rather see this on halloween than the Saw movies, they should have stopped after 3.

A kindred spirit! I think minimalism is far more effective in horror films for the reasons you very neatly wrote. When I was a kid, the original version of "The Haunting" used to really have a chilling effect on me and although you do see a few things, it's the noise and the reactions from the actors that helps to create the sense of terror. I recently watched it again for the first time in about 10 years and it still did the trick! Whether it is purely because you don't see physical forms or if it is a combination of things like a good director and cast I don't know but the minimalistic horrors seem to have more atmosphere.

I much prefer the original ending of PA too. I think it is far more eerie having Katie return to the bedroom and rock back and forth. The added bonus of only hearing the reaction of Katie's sister and not seeing what she sees is what makes this more effective in my opinion; minimalism, again, to a point!

Just checked my local Cineworld listings and they're showing previews of PA2 this Thursday with it going on general release this Friday 22nd! Didn't realise it was even out this week!

I'm quite surprised, i thought it would have been out the following week, 29th which is much closer to Halloween.

It's 90mins long, looking forward to it!

i watched it friday, there was a massive que but i was at the front it was suppose to start at 11.50pm but we didnt get in till 12.30

i would say this made me so scared i was covering my eyes :o
The bits that scared me was EACH night the one where shes in the kitchen and the cupboarRAB SLAM open Everyone in the Cinema Screamed :D, i found it so scary when the woman became possessed and she was just dead in eyes and then when the girl finRAB her in the babies room one sec shes there the next shes gone i was crapping it lol.

i also think its good how they tied the 1st one on causei thought it was a whole new story but it was Katys sister, and the way she snaps the guys neck  i think and HOPE there is a 3rd on on the way.

imo i give it 7.5/10.

That trailer kinda creeped me out. Only because i knew what to expect. The atmosphere was very well matched.

Did anyone notice in the trailer: you see the baby in the reflection but not in the crib. And when the dog looks up, the chair in the mirror is rocking. And then you see the writing in the reflection which says - 'what is happening to hunter?'.

I've got a feeling the mirror is going to play a big part in this film. Especially that room.
