Paramedics can you tell me what happens when someone gets knocked down by a car?

I'm writing a story & my character gets knocked down by a car, but I'm not exactly sure what the paramedics do when someone gets knocked down at high speed and is lying on the ground. Can somebody tell me [as many details as possible]
