My Mum has a 14 month(approx) old German Shepard x Labrador. In the last day or two she has been panting excessivly and waking us up at night with whining. (She is being taken to the vet tomorrow) This is very unusual of her and she just doesnt seem herself. Just wondeing if anyone has any idea what could be causing this? If this has anything to do with it she came back from a boarding kennel a few weeks ago with a red rash on her tummy and a bump under her front leg ( rash has subsided now) thank you so much if you can help

If it's bad, and it's out of the norm, and it's not from being out in the heat - that calls for vet attention. (If you can rule out heat, allergies, etc that would be usual causes)

Two different very serious illnesses can cause heavy panting - heartworm infections and blastomicosis. If these may be it, GET IT TRATED If it doesn't stop, or if you're really worried - I wouldn't wait to see the vet (especially with the weekend at hand).

It sounds like she is in a lot of pain and discomfort to me and only the vet will be able to tell you the source of that.

I hope she is ok.
