I know panic attacks include dry mouth, lump in throat, heavy chest, & fast heart rate. Well today I swear I had a panic attack, I have all those symptoms except my heart rate was in the 70's. Any other time I've had a panic attack my heart rate would be so high. Is this still considered a panic attack without a high heart rate?

A panic attack is your natural body's fight or flight response, so I think the first step is to discern the events leading up to it...

For me, they are not common, but I've had a few in my lifetime and the trigger points were all very similar. Instances where I felt unsafe.

So, try to reflect back on what you were doing, the environment you were in. Can you make a connection between those events, and say, something from your childhood or something that was very traumatic for you in your lifetime?

Yes, you can definitely still have what would be considered a Panic Attack without having your heart rate go up that much.

i get those kind of Panic attacks all the time.

All of sudden my mind will just start freaking out about something and I may get chest tightness and other various symptoms, but my heart rate will remain relatively normal.

I hate the ones when my heart races those really freak me out.
