Panasonic VDR-D150 dvd camera - finalized disc won't play on computer?

Hi, I have successfully finalized several mini-dvd's on my Panasonic video camera, but none will play on my computer nor on any dvd players. According to the instructions finalization is all I needed to do, but I am wondering if this can be better achieved with a usb connection to my PC (which uses Vista). Any suggestions?
